Catalans want to vote

On 8 June 2014, over 5,000 people formed human castles simultaneously in eight European capitals and in many other towns and cities to tell the world that the Catalans want to freely decide their future as a people. At 12 noon (Catalan time), over 70 groups of people made human castles, displaying banners with a clear, direct and democratic slogan: #CatalansWantToVote.

Human castles, one of the most visible elements of Catalan culture abroad, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, also symbolise the Catalans’ yearning at this historic time: we can band together, leverage diversity and combine all our efforts to achieve a better future for all.
